The double-track tunnel station Rosenheimer Platz is one of the eleven main line stations of the Munich S-Bahn . It is located under the square of the same name and Rosenheimer Strasse in the Haidhausen district of Munich .
description
Like the other tunnel stations on the main line, the station was opened in 1972, construction began in 1966. The escalators, pillars and the decorative stripes are yellow, the station's distinctive color. Like its north-western neighbor, the Munich Isartor train station , the train station has no connection to the subway or long-distance traffic, but only to the tram . In 2007, 55,600 passengers boarding, disembarking and transferring passengers used the stopping point every day (Mon-Fri).
The two steps of the platform each lead to a mezzanine floor. The north-western exit leads to both sides of Rosenheimer Strasse, the south-eastern one to Rosenheimer Platz, with a staircase to the office building at Rosenheimer Platz 4 .
The culture center at Gasteig with the concert halls, the Munich adult education center and the central office of the Munich city library can be reached via the northwest exit . Because of the concert halls, soundproofing measures were carried out on the tracks during the construction of the cultural center.
The tram stop for line 25 is located at one of the southeastern exits. The connection of tram line 25 between Max-Weber-Platz and Grünwald with the main S-Bahn line was an important argument for the construction of the tramway east bypass, which started on November 8, 1997 was put into operation.
At the exit to Weißenburger Straße, construction work began in autumn 2017 to build a model staircase for the redesign of all platform entrances to the Munich S-Bahn tunnel stations; however, the opening date had to be postponed several times.
The platform is 210 meters long and 96 cm high.
