The Feldafing Station is a train - stop in the Upper Bavarian municipality Feldafing . It has two platform tracks and belongs to category  5 of the DB Station & Service . The station is on the Munich – Garmisch-Partenkirchen railway line .

history

In 1854 a railway line from Munich to Starnberg was opened. On July 1, 1865, the Feldafing station was opened with the extension of the railway line to Weilheim . In the years 1900 to 1901 the station received a platform underpass . In 1902 the railway line was expanded to double tracks. Since 1972 the station has only been served by Munich S-Bahn trains.

Reception building

It was built in 1865 in the style of the Maximilian era according to plans by the district engineer of the Royal Bavarian State Railways Georg Dollmann on the Munich – Garmisch-Partenkirchen railway line.

Dollmann created a two-storey reception building with a flat hip roof made of exposed brick. The stones that were intended for the castle in the park are said to have been used. The main building is flanked by two symmetrical pavilions with connecting wings to the main building. On the ground floor of the main building there was a counter hall, an expedition and a waiting hall for the very highest authorities. In the outbuildings there was a waiting room for the 1st class, one for the 2nd class and another for the third class. The living and work rooms for the railway staff and the station master were on the upper floor. There is a platform roof in front of the reception building on the house platform. On the outside, elements made of house stone and classical details structure the facade of the building.

The station building is a listed building . It has served as the municipality's town hall since 2013 .
