The Munich Hackerbrücke station is a station opened in 1972 on the Munich S-Bahn main line below the Hackerbrücke in the immediate vicinity of the main station . The station, which consists of a 211-meter-long central platform, has two tracks and is located directly in front of the 32 ‰ steep entrance to the S-Bahn tunnel. The Munich Hbf signal box , which monitors and controls all train traffic in the main station and adjacent routes (excluding the S-Bahn), is also in the immediate southern vicinity .
This train station is particularly important during the Oktoberfest , as it is only approx. 650 m away from the Theresienwiese event location . Munich-Hackerbrücke is served by the S-Bahn lines 1 to 8. Only the S-Bahn line 20 does not run here. In 2008, the S-Bahn station was used by 23,500 travelers every day. Next to the S-Bahn station are the stops of the same name for tram lines 17 and 16 in the adjacent Arnulfstrasse . On September 11, 2009, the central bus station in Munich was opened north of the station .
