List of stops on the Munich S-Bahn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Route network of the Munich S-Bahn

This list of stations of the Munich S-Bahn shows all former, current and planned stops of the Munich S-Bahn .

The S-Bahn network operated by DB Regio as part of the Munich Transport and Tariff Association and opened in 1972 transported up to 800,000 people per day in 2010. 149 stations are currently served by ten lines, 41 of which are in the urban area of Munich . The other stops are spread across the ten districts of Munich (34), Fürstenfeldbruck (16), Dachau (15), Starnberg (14), Ebersberg (11), Erding (6), Freising (6), Miesbach (3), Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen (2) and Landsberg am Lech (1). Within this article, data on all lines are first shown in two smaller tables, followed by the list with all former, current and planned stations. Stops that have been shut down or not yet in operation are highlighted in gray.

Eight of the 31 underground stations in the Deutsche Bahn network are in the area of the Munich S- Bahn.

Overview

Lines

This table provides information about the length, the number of stations and the travel times of the lines. In the columns from / to the end stations of the western and eastern line branches are given. Length / stations west and east contain the respective values for the east branches (from Ostbahnhof) and for the west branches (from Donnersbergerbrücke). The specified travel time corresponds to the average of the travel times for the outward and return journey and can therefore vary slightly due to the infrequent train journeys with shorter / longer travel times.

Remarks

  1. a b The Großhesselohe station and the Holzkirchen wing station were part of the S-Bahn network from 1972 onwards, but were only served by locomotive-hauled trains, and finally in 1981 and 1982, before regular S-Bahn operations began, with electric multiple units of the series 420 and 421 on the route, closed for local passenger traffic.
  2. There is currently no S-Bahn service on the Munich – Holzkirchen line .
