The Friedenheimer Brücke is a road bridge in Munich built in 1901 and completely renewed in 1983 over the tracks between Pasing and Munich Central Station . It connects the districts of Neuhausen and Laim . In the south it meets Landsberger Straße , to the north it becomes Wilhelm-Hale-Straße, which joins Arnulfstraße .

Surname

Friedenheim is the name of a former manor that was located in the local area of ​​Laim near the point where Friedenheimer Strasse now joins Landsberger Strasse.

Located on the north side of the bridge Friedenheimer the mail sorting center of Deutsche Post AG, Munich. The former parcel post hall with its sweeping arched construction was built between 1965 and 1969 and at that time was the largest self-supporting precast concrete hall in the world with a span of 146.8 m and a length of 124 m. On the south side, east of the bridge, has been the hall of the ICE depot in Munich since 1993 .

S-Bahn station

Under the bridge is a stop for the Munich S-Bahn , which opened on December 13, 2009. This stop has been named Hirschgarten after the nearby park .
