Wörth is located in the Munich region in the Sempt valley between the district town of Erding and Markt Schwaben (both 8 km away) and 22 km west of Dorfen , 21 km south of Munich Airport , 23 km north of Ebersberg and around 33 km from the state capital Munich away.

Until the church is planted

Wörth was mentioned for the first time in 788 as "Weride". The place belonged to the Landshut Rent Office and to the Erding Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria , the landlord was the Bishop of Freising until the secularization in 1803 .

From 1818

In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818.

On March 27, 2016, the parish church of St. Peter was damaged by fire.

In 1978 the municipalities of Wörth and Walpertskirchen formed the Hörlkofen administrative community. In 2000 the center of Hörlkofen was redesigned. A new town hall of the administrative community was also located here.
