history

Until the church is planted

The discovery of a 2500 year old stone ax near Holzhausen proves the early settlement of the community area. The town of Langenpreising was first mentioned in a document in 767, when a member of the prison, from which the Preysing family developed, hands over the town of Prisinga. The place name is most likely derived from the name of the Priso family. This shows that the place was originally just called Preising, but the current place name Langenpreising was mentioned as early as 1318 in order to distinguish it from the new castle seat of Preysinger Altenpreising ( Kronwinkl (Eching) ). The village of Langenpreising is the oldest ancestral seat of the Counts of Preysing.

In the Middle Ages, the main landlord, along with a few others, was the Bavarian duke. Through a donation from Countess Bertha von Ebersberg, the Regensburg Abbey of Obermünster also came into the possession of parts of the village. After the relocation of the Counts of Preysing, a new noble seat was built on site, which became Hofmark in 1490 .

During the Thirty Years' War the plague broke out in 1632/33. In the Electorate of Bavaria Langenpreising belonged to the Landshut Rent Office and the Erding District Court. During the reforms by Maximilian Graf von Montgelas in 1818, today's community was created with the community edict.

19th to 21st century

The Catholic theologian and philosopher Martin Deutinger was born in the Langenpreisinger Schachtenmühle on March 24, 1815. After the First World War, the Mittlerer-Isar-Kanal was built in the southern municipality area, which broke out in a curve during load tests and flooded Langenpreising. During the Second World War, Langenpreising was liberated on May 1st by the 342nd US Infantry Regiment. No resistance worth mentioning was encountered. From 1966 until the 2008 election, Rudolf Weiß ( CSU ) was the First Mayor of Langenpreising for 42 years.
