The Munich-Freiham stop (abbreviated: Munich-Freiham Hp ) is a stop of the Munich S-Bahn on the Munich-Pasing-Herrsching line that went into operation on September 14, 2013 .

description

In preparation for an extensive residential construction project in Freiham , planning began in 2005 for a S-Bahn stop. With the start of construction in 2012, the new construction of a stop around 1000 meters east of the former Munich-Freiham train station began . The construction costs amounted to 10.8 million euros. These were funded by Deutsche Bahn , the state capital of Munich and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs , which contributed 2.3 million euros. The breakpoint opened on September 14, 2013.

It has two outer platforms with a length of 210 meters, also accessible by lifts, with a roof of 140 meters. The stop is served by S-Bahn line 8 every 20 minutes. During rush hour from Monday to Friday, it is integrated into the 10-minute intervals of the S-Bahn. The travel time to Munich's Marienplatz has been reduced from 40 to 22 minutes compared to the previously required transfer connection. When the 2013 annual timetable was being drawn up, travel time reserves were built in at the Germering-Unterpfaffenhofen stop so that no driving positions had to be changed after the stop was opened.
