The Munich-Daglfing train station is an operating point on the Munich Nordring and on the Munich East – Munich Airport railway line . It is located west of Daglfing in the Bogenhausen district of Munich . The station was opened in 1909 and has been a station of the Munich S-Bahn since 1973 .

history

The Royal Bavarian State Railways put Daglfing station into operation on June 5, 1909, together with the local railway from Munich East via Johanneskirchen to Ismaning and Schwabing . The station received a single-storey wooden reception building in the local railway style with an attached goods shed, which was identical to the station buildings in Johanneskirchen and Ismaning.

After Daglfing was incorporated into Munich in 1930 , the Deutsche Reichsbahn renamed the station to Munich-Daglfing on October 1, 1938 . On October 2, 1939, the Deutsche Reichsbahn put a single-track line from Daglfing to Trudering station into operation as part of the expansion of the Munich North Ring , so that Daglfing station became a separation station . The station received a mechanical signal box of the standard design, which was housed in a signal box front building at the reception building. During the Second World War , the station was damaged by air raids.

In the early 1970s, the Deutsche Bundesbahn expanded the station for the operation of the Munich S-Bahn . The previous travel facilities, which were located south of the level crossing at Daglfinger Strasse, were replaced by a new central platform north of the level crossing. On September 30, 1973, the Deutsche Bundesbahn began operating the S-Bahn at Daglfing station.

In July 1997, Deutsche Bahn shut down the mechanical signal box in Daglfing and replaced the shape signals with light signals. Since then, the station has been remotely controlled by the track plan push button interlocking in Unterföhring . The station building, which is no longer required, was demolished in 2000.

The station has a 211 m long and 76 cm high central platform , which is covered in its southern part. To the south of the platform, Daglfinger Straße crosses the tracks with a barred level crossing. The platform is connected to Daglfinger Straße on both sides of the tracks via an underpass . To the east of the central platform there is another, platform-free track that is used by the freight trains on Munich's Nordring.

In 1914, six pairs of trains from Munich East to Ismaning stopped at Daglfing station every day. With the electrification of the route, train traffic increased, so in the summer timetable of 1939 the station was served by eleven passenger trains from Munich East to Ismaning and twelve trains in the opposite direction. After the Second World War, 15 pairs of trains ran on the route on weekdays and 13 on Sundays. In the 1960s, the Deutsche Bundesbahn reduced traffic so that only four pairs of trains stopped in Daglfing on weekdays. For the rebuilding of the S-Bahn, the DB switched all train services to bus replacement services on May 28, 1972. From September 30, 1973, the S 3 line of the Munich S-Bahn between Maisach and Ismaning served the station every 20 minutes. Since the route to the airport was extended in 1992, Daglfing has been served by the S 8 line.

Several sidings were served in freight traffic at Daglfing station. Among other things, there was a siding to the Ruhland machine works south of the station and a connection to Schwaiger's widow's rope works north of the level crossing . After the end of local freight traffic, Daglfing will continue to be passed through by freight trains on Munich's Nordring.

There are bus stops to the west and east of the level crossing , of which the one in front of the level crossing is only used for getting off. In 2018 the bus lines 183 from Arabellapark to Messestadt West and 188 and 189 to Unterföhring stop at the station .
