The Fasangarten is a district of the Bavarian capital Munich and belongs to the city district 17 Obergiesing-Fasangarten . It forms the southern part of this city district south of the Stadelheim correctional facility and the cemetery at Perlacher Forst .

The name of today's district comes from a former forester's house near Perlach, to which a pheasant farm was affiliated from the beginning of the 18th century until 1805 . In the 1920s, an initially wild settlement emerged here, which was incorporated into Munich on October 1, 1937. Originally assigned to the Perlach district and therefore still in the Perlach district today, the pheasant garden together with Obergiesing forms the city district 17. The settlement at Perlacher Forst (colloquially mostly Ami settlement ) is the central and profile-giving part of the pheasant garden.

The Munich East – Deisenhofen railway runs through Fasangarten and is served every 20 or 10 minutes during rush hour by the S3 line of the Munich S-Bahn from Mammendorf to Holzkirchen . At this the duplication with existing Seitenbahnsteigen equipped S-Bahn stop München-Fasangarten .

The Federal Patent Court has its seat in the district.
