Flugwerft Schleissheim
Flugwerft Schleißheim is the name of a technical museum (full name: Deutsches Museum Flugwerft Schleißheim ). It is a branch of the Deutsches Museum in Munich's neighboring municipality of Oberschleißheim . The museum was designed by Reichert Pranschke Maluche Architekten, today prpm, and opened on September 18, 1992.
Various aerospace exhibits are shown on the site of the Schleissheim special airfield. These include various aircraft, helicopters, engines and jet engines. In addition, various on-board items and equipment and a flight simulator are on display. There is also a glass aircraft workshop, where visitors can watch aircraft restoration from a gallery. It is partially located in the restored buildings from the time of the Royal Bavarian Air Force (1912–1919) and a new exhibition hall built in 1992.
Every year the popular old-timer fly-in takes place on the grounds of the historic Flugwerft .
Other means of transport are on display in the traffic center on Theresienhöhe
