The Jakowlew Jak-50 ( Russian Яковлев Як-50 ) is a Soviet sport aircraft from the Jakowlew development office . It was created as a further development of the Yak-18PS and in 1976 by a victory at the VIII. World Championships FAI in aerobatics to a wide public a term.

development

This machine was developed before 1973 and looked like the Jakowlew Jak-18. In contrast to this, the Jak-50 got a more powerful engine, was generally kept smaller in size and manufactured in half-shell construction. Test pilot Oleg Bulygin carried out the flight tests and certified that the machine had good aerobatic properties. The public presentation took place in June 1977 at the 32nd Paris Air Show . 312 copies were built. Further developments are the two-seater Jak-52 , the Jak-53 equipped with nose-wheel landing gear and the Jak-55 in all-metal construction.
