The Jakowlew Jak-112 ( Russian Яковлев Як-112 ) is a light multi-purpose aircraft produced by the Russian aircraft manufacturer Jakowlew . The machine took off for its maiden flight on October 20, 1992 .

development

The development of this type began in 1988. The basic requirements for the new type were:

  • Transport of 2 to 3 passengers and the pilot.
  • Transport of high-quality freight or mail up to 270 kg
  • Use as a training aircraft
  • Can be used in aircraft tow
  • Use in forest and pipeline control
  • Transport on a prone position for medical emergencies
  • Use as a sprayer

Ultimately, the range of applications was similar to that of the Jakowlew Jak-12 at the time, which was also decisive for the type number. Overall, the Jak-112 is also similar to the Jak-12, but is designed using the latest technology. Initially, Russian engines (including a diesel unit ) were planned, but their development was delayed. A Lycoming IO-360-ES with 153 kW was therefore used in prototypes, but it turned out to be too weak. The production-ready model was flown for the first time on December 15, 1995 with a more powerful engine, modified engine cowling and other minor changes.

The single-engine, braced high-decker , made entirely of metal, has space for four people in a generously glazed cabin. The nose wheel landing gear is not retractable, it can cope with poorly or poorly prepared slopes and can be equipped with skis.

An American Textron Lycoming is now used as the drive, delivering its power of 190 kW to an adjustable Hartzell metal propeller .

In addition to Russian components, the avionics can also consist of BendixKing devices . It is possible to equip the machine so that it is suitable for all weather conditions. An instrument landing system can also be integrated.
