The Jakowlew Jak-13 ( Russian Яковлев Як-13 ) was the prototype of a single-engine liaison aircraft. Development work in OKB Jakowlew began in 1944 under the name Jak-12 .

description

The aircraft, manufactured in composite construction, had a wing in a low- wing arrangement and a rear wheel landing gear, in which the main wheels could be retracted.

Parallel to the Jak-13, the Jak-10 appeared , which essentially corresponded to this, only the wing was arranged in a shoulder- wing design, the landing gear was rigid and the cabin was slightly modified. During flight tests, which were carried out from November 1944 to June 1945, it turned out that the Jak-13 was superior to this type in terms of flight characteristics. Due to the better take-off and landing properties of the Jak-10, however, this went into series production.

The successor to the Jak-10 was the extremely successful Jak-12 .
