The Jakowlew Jak-55 ( Russian Яковлев Як-55 ) is a Soviet sport aircraft from the Jakowlew development office .
development
It was created as the successor to the Jak-50 in 1981 and was a completely new development with a fully symmetrical profile. The middle decker is made of all-metal construction. The structure can withstand loads of up to 20 g . For reasons of fatigue, the G limits were reduced to −6 g / and +9 g . In the course of the following years, the Jak-55 was to replace the Jak-50 in the flying clubs of the USSR. The Jak-55M was also created with a reduced wingspan for higher roll rates as a counterpart to the Su-26M .
Jak-110
The Jak-110 is a twin -fuselage aircraft made from two Jak-55s (N41126 and N955SF). The two Jak-55s were connected by a new wing piece. In addition to the normal propeller engines, a GE-J-85 jet engine with a long exhaust pipe was mounted under the new center wing. In contrast to some other double-fuselage aircraft, which were created by combining two basic aircraft cells, the original horizontal stabilizers of the two Jak-55 fuselages were retained in the Jak-110. However, these are connected and the aft end of the jet engine exhaust pipe is attached to them.
