The Jakowlew Jak-32 ( Russian Яковлев Як-32 , NATO code name : Mantis ) is a Soviet training and sports aircraft that was developed from the jet trainer Jak-30 .
development
The contract for a single-seat version of the Jak-30 as an aerobatic trainer took place in July 1958. In contrast to the two-seat Jak-30, it is a single-seater, about 200 kg lighter and has a less powerful engine. The prototype ( Yellow 32 ) was completed in October 1960 and flew for the first time in early February 1961. With this, the test pilot W. Muchin set an altitude record of 14,283 m for this class during the test on February 22, 1961 on the fifth test flight. A few more records followed by women such as a speed record on a 100 km distance of 724.45 km / h by G. Korchuganova on January 14, 1965, which was already on February 19 by R. Schichina on 755.00 km / h to 15/25 km measuring distance has been improved. The Jak-32 did not go into series production; only three copies were made of it. In 1961 the first prototype received two underwing stations for six surface-to-air missiles each and was presented as a light attack aircraft Jak-32Sch together with other possible armament variants in Chodynka . No serial order was placed for this either, nor for the Jak-32P from 1972.
technical description
The Jak-32 is an all - metal low- wing aircraft with a cantilevered wing in a trapezoidal shape. The air inlets for the engine in the fuselage are located on both sides in the wing roots. The tail unit is also conventionally cantilevered, with the leading edge of the vertical tail unit being heavily swept. The nose wheel landing gear is completely retractable and has one wheel per strut. The Jak-32 has a pressurized cabin , ejection seat and blind flight instrumentation.
