The Otterfing Station is a breakpoint of Deutsche Bahn in the Munich-Holzkirchen railway in the Bavarian village Otterfing . It is served by the S3 line of the Munich S-Bahn , which runs between Mammendorf and Holzkirchen .

history

As early as 1872, the Otterfing community asked the Bavarian state parliament to set up a stop on the Munich – Holzkirchen railway line . On July 3, 1876, the Bavarian State Parliament decided in its 13th public session on the draft law of the Chamber of Deputies on the Palatinate Railways . Among other things, the Chamber requested that the municipality of Otterfing, then the Munich District Office, be granted permission to set up a stop for the 2nd class freight expedition on the Munich – Holzkirchen railway line. Due to the disproportion between costs and needs, the application was rejected and the agenda went on.

On October 1, 1891, the Otterfing station between the Sauerlach and Holzkirchen stations on the route from Munich Centralbahnhof to Holzkirchen of the Royal Bavarian State Railways (K.Bay.Sts.B.) was opened with full handling service and on December 2, 1892 for the Hand over all traffic.

In 1899, the responsible state ministry granted the committee for the construction of a local railway from Otterfing to Dietramszell the technical preparatory work for a period of two years. The project remained unrealized.

In 1939 a late Roman skeleton grave was found near the construction of a water pipe north of the station building . In 1942, a woman's body grave was discovered during excavation work near the train station.

The former brick building of the Otterfinger train station was acquired by the municipality years ago and is no longer used for the stop. The rooms are owned by the association Eisenbahnfreunde München Südost e. V. , who had the premises made available to the ground floor rooms by the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) in 1985 .

The stop was renewed for S-Bahn operations, and in 1975 S-Bahn operations between Deisenhofen and Holzkirchen began.

Significant modernization work on the S-Bahn stop and the associated underpass has not been carried out since 1970. The current stop has neither public toilets nor commercial space. A full roofing of the platforms, a barrier-free expansion of the platforms and the like, which would be in the area of responsibility of the DB, is not required, according to Mayor Jakob Eglseder, due to the insufficient use of the facility. The construction of a toilet block between the bicycle parking facility and the exit to the underpass through the community as well as parking spaces at the train station is planned.

traffic

In addition to the S3, the stop is also served by a few regional trains of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB), on working days they stop twice a day in the direction of Schliersee / Bayrischzell and once a day in the direction of Munich (as of 2019).

All trains go on track 1 in the direction of Holzkirchen , on track 2 trains to Maisach or Mammendorf .
