Imaging education
Imaging reconnaissance ( English Imagery Intelligence - IMINT ) is the detection of air , satellite and moving images by means of air- and space-based reconnaissance carrier with various sensors and their evaluation. This can be used, for example, to investigate military troop movements and gatherings as well as industrial plants.
Sensors
Optical , electro-optical , infrared or radar sensors can be used for imaging reconnaissance .
Reconnaissance vehicles
Small drones such as the Mikado , unmanned aircraft such as Luna , the small aircraft target location (KZO), the Heron reconnaissance drone , manned aircraft such as the reconnaissance tornado and reconnaissance satellites such as SAR-Lupe and SARah can be used as reconnaissance vehicles .
Germany
Federal Intelligence Service
The Federal Intelligence Service (BND) uses image reconnaissance as an intelligence service to gain knowledge about other countries that are of importance to the Federal Republic of Germany in terms of foreign and security policy.
armed forces
In the Bundeswehr, imaging reconnaissance takes place in the three branches of the army , air force and navy as well as in the organizational area of cyber and information space. In the latter there is a central imaging education .

The cross-armed forces and interdepartmental training for imaging reconnaissance in Germany takes place at the Air Force training center for imaging reconnaissance . The courses are also open to participants from other countries.
NATO
NATO distinguishes between 19 target categories in imaging reconnaissance.
United States
In the United States , Imaging & Reconnaissance is used. a. operated by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
