history
The former Kurnehnen was one of nine parishes that formed the Gawaiten district on March 18, 1874 (1938–1946 Herzogsrode , since 1946 Russian: Gawrilowo). Until 1945 it belonged to the district of Goldap in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .
On December 1, 1910, Kurnehnen had 195 inhabitants. Their number was 190 in 1933 and had dropped to 174 by 1939.
In the course of the National Socialist renaming campaign , Kurnehnen received the changed name “Kurnen” on June 3, 1938 - with official confirmation from July 16, 1938.
As a result of the Second World War Kurnen came under Soviet administration. Since 1946 the place has been called "Kruglowka". Until 2009 he was incorporated into the Gawrilowski Soviet (Dorfsovjet Gawrilowo ( Gawaiten , 1938–1946 Herzogsrode )) and since then has been a "settlement" (possjolok) in the Gavrilowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Gavrilowo) in the district of Osjorsk, which is now Russian Oblast .
church
With its predominantly Protestant population, Kurnehnen (Kurnen) was parish into the parish of Gawaiten (1938–1946 Herzogsrode , Russian: Gawrilowo) until 1945 . It belonged to the church district Goldap (now Polish: Gołdap) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Wilhelm Schiweck .
During the time of the Soviet Union , all church life was forbidden. It was not until the 1990s that a new evangelical congregation was formed in the former parish village of Gawrilowo, which was incorporated into the ecclesiastical region of the Salzburg Church in Gussew ( Gumbinnen ) of the likewise newly founded provost of Kaliningrad in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
