The Lehel U-Bahn station is a stop on the Munich U-Bahn . The Lehel underground station was opened on October 27, 1988. It is located in the district of the same name and has access to Thierschplatz and St.-Anna-Platz. The station consists of two tube platforms that are connected with two cross passages. It is relatively deep underground because the routes cross under the Isar shortly afterwards , and was therefore built using mining techniques .
Many galleries, museums, offices and administrations as well as businesses of all kinds benefit from the location of the train station. The Tram 16 is important to the feeder as well as for running traffic subway. Because of the museums nearby, there are casts of numerous sculptures on the walls, which were additionally illuminated with special spotlights in the first time after the opening. There are also showcases for other exhibits in the cross passages between the platform tunnels. The walls themselves are clad with white aluminum sheets that are bordered with matt silver ribbons. This creates a very bright room with the central light band.
