The Oberwiesenfeld U-Bahn station is a station on the Munich U-Bahn .

description

The station was opened on October 28, 2007 and is served by the U3 line. It is located in the north of the Olympic Park on Moosacher Strasse south of the Am Oberwiesenfeld area .

The rear track walls consist of aluminum panels that are orange on track 1 and black and white on track 2. The platform, which is lined with granite slabs, is largely illuminated by skylights with daylight and a view of the sky, with two light strips on the ceiling. 15 pyramid-shaped light shafts illuminate the 120 meter long platform with plenty of daylight. An elevator leads through a skylight directly to the surface and to the eastern locking level. From there the Moosacher Straße is reached. Escalators and fixed stairs lead from the platform to both the eastern and western barrier floors and from there to Moosacher Straße. The platform is around 11.5 meters below the surface of the earth, the width of the structure is almost 18 meters between the two 1.20 meter wide diaphragm walls. To the west of the station there is a turning track in the tunnel.

Part of the tunnel is in the area of the groundwater. To ensure that no water could penetrate during construction, the working chamber had to be operated with excess air pressure. The construction section was only accessible via a pressure lock, in which the workers had to spend up to an hour after the shift in order to equalize the pressure.

For the design of the applied on the south side image ornament stands Rudolf Herz together responsible Hans Döring. It shows fine geometric patterns in the form of a labyrinth. The north wall is covered with orange panels that are supposed to tie in with the orange of the Olympic line. The overall planning of the station was in the hands of Paul Kramer and Manfred Rossiwal-Jespersen from the municipal building department.

The planning name of this station was "Olympiapark Nord". At the request of the local district committee, however, the name was changed to the historic hall name of the area of today's Olympic Park before the opening . Since 1972 the Olympiazentrum underground station has had the addition "Oberwiesenfeld" on two places on the outer walls of the station.
