The Metro Station Poccistraße the Munich subway was opened on May 28, 1978th The station is located under Lindwurmstrasse , from which Poccistrasse, named after Count Franz von Pocci , branches off.
The station has two rows of columns decorated with yellow mosaic stones. The ceiling over the tracks is semicircular at the top and is made of concrete. The back track walls are clad with silver asbestos-containing Eternit panels. The ceiling above the platform with the Isar pebble motif also consisted of asbestos fiber cement panels, which were painted white and shaped like a semicircle. At the top of the column there is a concrete cross beam, on the sides of which the lighting is attached. At the south-western end you can reach Lindwurmstraße near Ruppertstraße via a barrier floor with a bakery. At the other end, Lindwurmstraße can also be reached via a mezzanine floor.
The station was subsequently installed between the existing and operating tunnels. It could not be built immediately when the line was being built, as an urban motorway was originally planned there, but the planning was discarded. Initially there was a connection to Munich South Station , but only a few regional trains stopped at this station until passenger traffic was completely stopped in 1985. On May 6, 2010, the fall leaf displays on the platform were replaced by new, more modern screens that were used at underground stations such as B. Marienplatz or Sendlinger Tor have been in use for a long time.
The ceiling paneling was removed in spring 2016. A ceiling lowering of 3.9 cm was determined. Since then, the ceiling height has been subject to daily monitoring. A complete closure of the subway in the event of further lowering can no longer be ruled out.
As part of the planning for the U9 clasp , consideration is being given to merging the train station with the Implerstraße station in a new building.
