The Implerstraße the Munich subway was opened on 22 November 1975, is a three-track branch station of the U3 and U6 .
The Implerstraße station has no pillars despite its 22.5 meter span, which is unique in the Munich subway network. The middle track was unused until 1989, as the U3 ran together with the U6 to Holzapfelkreuth until the line to Fürstenried West was opened . The U6 runs on platform 1 towards Marienplatz . On track 2, the U3 goes to Fürstenried West and the U6 goes to Klinikum Großhadern . On track 3, which was unused for 14 years, the U3 runs today, coming from Fürstenried, towards Marienplatz. The back track walls are made of fiber cement panels. The ceiling paneling was provided with holes for the individual fluorescent tubes that illuminate the platform, which is laid out with a red Isar pebble motif. The surface can be reached at both ends of the platform via barrier floors.
If the U9 bracket were to be built, the underground station would have to be expanded to four tracks or, along with the Poccistraße underground station , replaced by a new building.
The station was named after the Implerstraße running above it, which is named after the Impler patrician family .

Theresienwiese plant
From the Implerstraße train station, you can also reach the three-track operating system under the Theresienwiese , as well as the Schwanthalerhöhe train station on the U5. This connection has been used for outbound and inbound journeys since the U5 opened. The connection via the parking facility was built so that the lines U4 and U5 have a connection to the north depot. Outside rush hour, trains are parked on the two sidings of the operating facility.
