Euphorbia berorohae is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia berorohae forms small shrubs up to a height of 70 centimeters. Only a small number of twigs are sprouted from the tuberous root. The almost sessile, egg-shaped leaves are on shortened shoots and are 25 millimeters long and 7 millimeters wide. The strong stipple spines are up to 8 millimeters long and are bent away from the shoot.
Single and simple cymes are formed that appear almost at the end of the shoot and are on stems up to 1 centimeter long. The spreading cyathophylls are ovate, about 5 millimeters in size and are bright green in color. The cyathia are about 2.5 millimeters in size. The elongated nectar glands are reddish and border one another. The ovary is almost sessile. Nothing is known about the fruits and seeds.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia berorohae is endemic to southern Madagascar in the Mangoky area . The species is on the IUCN Red List and is critically endangered.
The species was first described in 1995 by Werner Rauh and Siegfried Hofstätter .
