Euphorbia biaculeata is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

description

The succulent Euphorbia biaculeata forms shrubs up to 1.5 meters high, which branch out from the base. There are few linear leaves. These are seated and are up to 60 millimeters long and 3 millimeters wide. Simple stipple spines up to 1 centimeter in length are formed.

The inflorescence consists of simple, single cymes on long stalks . The triangular cyathophylls are about 8 millimeters in size, are spread out and colored red. Very small nectar glands are formed on the cyathia . The ovary is bare and nothing is known about the fruits and seeds.

Distribution and systematics

Euphorbia biaculeata is endemic to the southwest of Madagascar . The species is on the IUCN Red List and is considered endangered (Vulnerable).

The species was first described in 1921 by Marcel Denis .
