Euphorbia bottae is a species of the genus milkweed ( Euphorbia ) in the family of the milkweed family(Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia bottae forms richly branched shrubs. Short-lived, linear-lanceolate leaves up to 6 millimeters long are formed on the thin, up to 30 centimeter long shoots.
The inflorescence consists of terminal cymes , which are in one to four-rayed umbels on stems up to 2 centimeters long. Two elongated bracts are formed on each of the stems. The cyathia are about 8 millimeters in size and the egg-shaped nectar glands stand individually. The clearly lobed fruit is about 1 centimeter in size. The egg-shaped seeds are smooth and have a small appendage .
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia bottae is common in the south of the Arabian Peninsula .
The species was first described in 1862 by Pierre Edmond Boissier . A synonym is Tirucallia bottae (Boiss.) PVHeath (1996).
