description

The succulent Euphorbia bougheyi forms trees up to 7 meters high and a crown up to 3 meters in diameter. The two to four-edged branches are whorled and spread out. They are 2.5 to 5 centimeters wide and are divided by elongated constrictions. The thin edges are deeply winged and provided with wavy, concave teeth at a distance of 2.5 centimeters from one another. The elongated and very narrow thorn shields are usually single. Thorns up to 7.5 millimeters in length and very small stipple thorns are formed.

The inflorescence consists of simple and individual cymes , which are strong, 2.5 millimeter long stems. The cyathia are up to 10 millimeters in size. The elliptical nectar glands are colored yellow and border each other. The ovary is surrounded by an inflorescence covered with teeth. The very clearly lobed fruit is shortened at the base and is about 9 millimeters long and 21 millimeters wide. It stands on a strong stem up to 7 millimeters long. The spherical seed is smooth and almost 4 millimeters in size.
