Euphorbia cucumerina is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia cucumerina grows as a small shrub and is up to 25 centimeters high. The shoots are provided with 12 ribs and reach a diameter of about 3.5 centimeters. There are shallow furrows between these ribs.
Barren and thorny inflorescence stalks are formed. The individual and small cyathia appear at the tips of the shoots and have stems about 6 millimeters long.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia cucumerina is widespread in the South African province of North Cape in Namaqualand .
The species was first described in 1799 by Carl Ludwig Willdenow .
The species is only known from the type illustration and has not yet been assigned to any other known species.
