Euphorbia cuneneana is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia cuneneana grows from a large, bulbous root with scattered shoots and reaches a height of 90 centimeters. The simple and blunt square shoots are bluish green in color and provided with light vertical stripes. They are up to 8 millimeters thick and have very flat and bulged teeth on the edges that are up to 22 millimeters apart. The obovate thorn shields stand individually. The narrow thorns are up to 6 millimeters long, the stipple thorns up to 2 millimeters long.
Single and simple cymes are formed, which are located on stems up to 2 millimeters long. The cyathia reach a diameter of 6 millimeters. The elliptical nectar glands are colored yellow-green and touch each other. The bluntly lobed and almost sedentary fruit is 3.5 millimeters long and 4.5 millimeters wide. The egg-shaped seed becomes 2 millimeters long and 1.75 millimeters wide. The seed surface is covered with warts.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia cuneneana is widespread in the south of Angola in the province of Huíla .
The species was first described in 1976 by Leslie Charles Leach .
