Euphorbia decliviticola is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

description

The succulent Euphorbia decliviticola grows as a shrub-like, small tree and is up to 3 meters high. A strong trunk is formed on which there are very dense and spreading branches. The simple branches have four to six edges and are up to 60 centimeters long and about 6 centimeters wide. They are divided into 15 centimeter long segments by constrictions and have bulging teeth on the winged edges at a distance of 1 centimeter from each other. The thorn shields have grown together to form a 1.5 to 3 millimeter wide horn rim. The thorns are up to 6 millimeters long.

The inflorescence is made up of one to three cymes that are bifurcated one to three times. The strong inflorescence stalks are up to 2 millimeters thick. The cyathia reach a diameter of about 5 millimeters and the elongated nectar glands are colored yellow and butt against each other. The slightly bent back flower stalk can be up to 7 millimeters long. The spherical seed is 2 millimeters in size and has a smooth surface.

Distribution and systematics

Euphorbia decliviticola is common on steep granite rocks in the east and center of Mozambique .

The species was first described in 1973 by Leslie Charles Leach .
