Euphorbia neohumbertii is a species of the genus milkweed ( Euphorbia ) in the family of the milkweed family(Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia neohumbertii usually grows unbranched with a single, sharply pentagonal trunk that is up to 1 meter high and 5 centimeters in diameter. The leaves, standing in clusters at the top of the trunk, are egg-shaped and can be up to 10 centimeters long and 6.5 centimeters wide. The leaves, which are occasionally reddish in color on the underside, are almost sessile. After the leaves are shed, broad and elliptical stigmas remain. The up to 18 millimeter long secondary leaf spines can be single or branched. They are widespread at the base, stand close together and form a vertical or slightly spiraling bristle rib.
The flowers consist of simple cymes that are in clusters at the top of the stem. The upright and bright red cyathophylls envelop the cyathia and are up to 15 millimeters long. The whitish colored cyathia are up to 2.5 millimeters in diameter and have short hairs. The triangular nectar glands are colored green. The almost sessile ovary is bluntly lobed and hairy.
