description

The succulent Euphorbia rossii forms shrubs up to 1 meter high, which branch out from a bulbous root at the base. A short stem with a diameter of 3 centimeters is formed. The branches are up to 1 centimeter thick and form short side shoots. The linear leaves on the side shoots are up to 40 millimeters long and 4 millimeters wide and are almost sessile. The stipule spines are very dense and up to 15 millimeters long. They have a thickened base and are grouped together with other thorns. Younger thorns are hairy.

The inflorescence consists of terminal and almost sessile cymes . The approximately 5 millimeter large cyathophylls are spread out in clusters and are tapered to a point. The cyathia are up to 3 millimeters in diameter. The elliptical nectar glands are colored yellow-orange. The bluntly lobed fruit reaches 3 millimeters in diameter.
