Euris Vidal
Euris Vidal (born July 20, 1987 , † December 22, 2013 in Santiago de los Caballeros ) was a Dominican track and road cyclist .
Athletic career
Euris Vidal was third in the 2006 road race of the Dominican Road Cycling Championship. The next year he won the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the Pan American Championship on the track. On the road, Vidal was successful in 2006 on a section of the Vuelta al Valle del Cibao and he was again third in the national championship. In 2008 he rode for the Caico Cycling Team . Most recently he rode for the Predator Cycling Team and finished 13th in the USA Crits series in 2013 .
On December 22, 2013, Vidal tried to prevent a robbery in Santiago and was shot dead by one of the robbers.
