The European School Family was founded in October 1991 in Tommerup , Denmark . Today's members are schools from Denmark , the Netherlands , Poland , England and Germany .

The initiators hope that the project will

  • the pupils meet a European neighbor and experience him in his culture, in his family, as well as in his everyday school life, so that the idea of ​​a common Europe becomes tangible,

  • over-school effects occur: friendships develop; mutual visits by parents and / or students during vacation; Promotion of the personal development and development towards independence of the students; Further development of knowledge and understanding of European neighbors; Xenophobia finds no breeding ground.
