Europe Forum Lucerne

The Europa Forum Luzern is a regular summit meeting of business , science and politics to strengthen Switzerland as a location in Europe . The forum provides neutral and independent information about the latest developments in Europe and their effects on Switzerland. Selected top representatives from the field of business and politics will give lectures on various topics. Events take place in spring and autumn. Over 1000 guests take part in the Europa Forum.

organization

The Europa Forum is chaired by the mayor of the city of Lucerne and led by a director. Christof Wicki has been Director of the Europa Forum Luzern since 2000. The Europa Forum is organized by a non-profit association. The event's partners include the Directorate for European Affairs (part of the FDFA ), the city and canton of Lucerne and company networks (“Förderkreis 92”). The honor committee includes numerous current and former top representatives from business and politics.

The Europa Forum Luzern carries out the following activities twice a year (spring and autumn) in the Culture and Congress Center Lucerne (KKL):

• Lunch cruise on Lake Lucerne on the subject of "The future of the economy"

• Public event

Speakers

National and international representatives from business, science and politics take part in the Europa Forum Luzern. A representative of the Swiss Federal Council appears regularly at the Europa Forum. Furthermore, as representatives of the economy u. a part: Christoph Franz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roche pharmaceutical company, Ulrich Spiesshofer, CEO of the ABB Group, Sergio Ermotti, Group CEO of UBS Group AG, Rolf Dörig, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Life Group and Adecco, Josef Ackermann , former CEO of Deutsche Bank, Axel Weber , Chairman of the Board of Directors of UBS, Hariolf Kottmann, CEO Clariant , as the business representative at the Europa Forum Luzern. Wolfgang Schüssel , former Austrian Chancellor, Sabine Lautenschläger , board member of the European Central Bank , Franz Josef Jung , former Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik, and Andreas Schwab, Member of the EU Parliament, Michael Matthiessen, EU Ambassador to Switzerland, were, for example, international representatives performed at the Europa Forum Luzern.
