Europa anders ( ANDERS ) was a political alliance founded in Austria in the run-up to the 2014 European elections . It consisted of the Communist Party of Austria , the Pirate Party , the Change Party and independents like Martin Ehrenhauser . In the 2014 European elections , the alliance received 2.14% of the vote in Austria and thus failed to make it into the European Parliament.
Founding convention and continuation after the EU election
On March 1, 2014, the official founding convention took place in Vienna, at which Martin Ehrenhauser was elected as the top candidate for the 2014 European elections.
An internal party initiative of the Pirate Party commissioned its federal management in August 2014 to dissolve the electoral alliance. The pirates justified this step u. a. thus, the election result was "a clear sign against further cooperation of this kind". So far, no official statements have been made about the continuation of the electoral alliance by the other partners.
Candidates EU election 2014
The two top candidate places for the 2014 election to the European Parliament were reserved for non-party members and went to Martin Ehrenhauser and Ulli Fuchs at the founding convention . The rest of the list was filled alternately by the candidates of the KPÖ, the pirate party and the change. The main candidates of the parties were:
- KPÖ: Waltraud Fritz
- Pirate Party: Lukas Daniel Klausner
