European Interuniversity Center for Human Rights and Democratization

The European Interuniversity Center for Human Rights and Democratization (EIUC) is a European institution founded on September 15, 2002 in Venice to promote human rights and democratization. EIUC is supported by 100 universities and, in addition to the E.MA master's program, offers conferences, seminars and workshops on the topics of the center. The center is located in the monastery of San Nicolo on the Lido in Venice. The current president is Horst Fischer . The honorary president is Mary Robinson, who is also the holder of the EIUC medal.

EIUC provides theoretical and practice-oriented content on the topics of international relations, law, philosophy, history, anthropology, political science and sociology. The German partner universities include the University of Hamburg and the Ruhr University Bochum .

Since 2004, it has presented the EIUC Human Rights Film Award annually at the Venice International Film Festival .
