The European Online Academy is organized by the Center International de Formation Européenne in cooperation with the Jean Monnet Chair for Politics at the University of Cologne and other partners. It is officially and financially supported by the European Commission .
Goal setting
The focus is on deepening knowledge of the EU's integration process and is conveyed through a combination of learning methods - mainly through e-learning and phases of concentrated direct lessons on the weekends.
In addition, the EOA degree programs provide training and an additional qualification for young professionals, university graduates and young civil servants who are interested in European integration or who are already working in this area. The young professionals have the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies while continuing their professional careers. Each year consists of a maximum of 35 participants with different professional backgrounds and national origins.
The European Online Academy (EOA), the Jean Monnet Chair for Politics at the University of Cologne and other partners offer two postgraduate courses.
Certificate in EU Studies Online (1 year)
This course offers information about current developments in the European integration process and insights into political events and policy areas. By combining e-learning and direct lessons in Berlin, Rome, Budapest and Brussels, the EOA provides an additional qualification for prospective professionals, university graduates and young civil servants who are interested in European integration or who are already working in an EU-relevant area.
Executive Master in EU Studies (2 years)
CIFE also offers a two-year master’s degree that provides extensive theoretical and practical knowledge. The Master's is an additional qualification for prospective professionals, university graduates and young civil servants who are interested in European integration or who are already working in an EU-relevant area.
methodology
The Executive Master in EU Studies Online offers through e-learning and phases of direct lessons in Berlin, Rome, Budapest and Brussels:
- Online courses and discussion forums
- Interdisciplinary mix of topics: political science, economics and EU law
- Workshops and intercultural seminars
- Simulations, tests, written and oral exams
- Visits to national and EU institutions, meetings with decision makers
- Renowned experts lead the online courses and workshops
Workshops
The face-to-face workshops, which complement the virtual activities, take place in various European capitals, including Berlin, Rome, Budapest and Brussels, where the participants also meet national decision-makers.
