The European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of European listed real estate companies. EPRA is run by an independent management team, chaired by Rolf Buch , Chairman of the Vonovia Management Board .

Company history

Since it was founded in Amsterdam in 1999, EPRA first formed a partnership with Euronext , which has been expanded in the course of the company's history through further partnerships with FTSE and NAREIT. In cooperation with FTSE and NAREIT, the FTSE-EPRA / NAREIT-Global index series were developed, which are now listed in the comprehensive EPRA index platform and are recognized worldwide as performance benchmarks for listed real estate companies and REITs . EPRA has been based in Brussels since 1999.

The main activity is to broaden the understanding of the alternative investment opportunity in listed real estate companies in Europe. Statistics and data from listed real estate companies form the basis of the wide-ranging analysis and research activities that EPRA conducts independently, but also in cooperation with various educational institutions.

In the area of ​​financial reporting, EPRA aims to develop uniform valuation and reporting rules within the European real estate sector. EPRA supports the process of introducing comprehensive KPIs , and in cooperation with Deloitte , companies are awarded the gold, silver or bronze Best Practice Award every year based on their annual report .
