The European Sports Media (short ESM , formerly European Sports Magazines ) are an amalgamation of originally only European sports magazines, with a focus on football . The members elect a European eleven of the month and of the year. The golden shoe , the trophy for the winner of the European top scorer list, will also be awarded. The ESM are also responsible for the computer table , a ranking of European football clubs.

The founding members of this association were:

France Football replaced Onze Mondial as a French member in1997, but left the union again before the 2001/02 season. Sport from Switzerland was stopped in 1999 due to financial problems. Sport-Express from Russia was added at the beginning of 2002, Fanatik from Turkey joined at the beginning of 2003, TIPS-bladet from Denmark followed in the middle of the same year. After that, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung was added as a further German-speaking member.
