The Europipe GmbH (proper spelling: EUROPIPE GmbH ) produces longitudinal and spiral welded large-diameter pipes for gas , oil and water pipelines. The company was founded in 1991 and claims to have a total of three locations with four production lines worldwide . The headquarters of Europipe GmbH is based in Mülheim an der Ruhr . Its shareholders are Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH , which belongs to Salzgitter AG, and AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke each with 50 percent.

The company produces over 1 million tons or around 3000 kilometers of pipes annually. The production range includes diameters of 610 millimeters to 1524 millimeters (24–60 inches ) for longitudinally seam welded pipes (SAWL) and 610 to 1422 millimeters (24–56 inches) for spiral seam welded pipes (SAWH) and wall thicknesses of 7 to 45 millimeters.

To protect the steel pipes from mechanical damage and corrosion, they are coated. Europipe also manufactured the main part of the pipes for the Nord Stream Baltic Sea pipeline , as well as the two strands of the Baltic Sea Pipeline Connection Line (OPAL) and the Northern European Natural Gas Line (NEL)
