The German Europol Act ( EuropolG ) regulates the responsibilities and domestic powers in the course of the establishment of Europol . As part of the expansion of Europol's powers, the Europol Law has been amended several times.

The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), according to the law, the national center for European police cooperation. It allows the BKA to participate in the exchange of information with Europol. Furthermore, protocol obligations and the applicability of the BKA Act are regulated . The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information performs the tasks of the national supervisory authority. The Federal Republic of Germany , represented by the BKA, assumes liability for incorrect processing of personal data . The Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Home Affairs appoints a member and a deputy to attend the meetings of the Board of Directors . A representative of the federal states nominated by the Federal Council can participate as an expert .
