Josef Ruthig

Josef Ruthig (* 1965 ) is a German legal scholar . He holds the chair for public law , European law and comparative law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .

academic career

From 1985 to 1990 Josef Ruthig studied law at the University of Mannheim . After receiving his doctorate in 1996, he received his habilitation there in 2001. Since 2003 he has held the chair for public law , European law and comparative law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. From 2006 to 2007 he was visiting professor at the University of Southern California , where he already spent a research stay between 1998 and 1999.
