According to Homer's Iliad, Eurymedon was the son of Ptolemy and grandson of Peiraios; he served King Agamemnon as a charioteer. After the Trojan War he was one of his master's companions on his return to Mycenae and, like him , was killed by Aigisthus , the lover of Agamemnon's wife Klytaimnestra .
