The Evangelical Reformed Church Pivitsheide is a church in the Detmold district of Pivitsheide VL and part of the Evangelical Reformed class Detmold in the Lippe regional church .

history

By 1942, passed in Pivitsheide two separate Protestant congregations who Stapelage belonging parish in Pivitsheide VL and the pagans associated in Pivitsheide VH The United Reformed Church Pivitsheide arose following a decision of church board members and representatives of the Synod in the years 1941-42. It was not until December 16, 1945 that the pastor from Hölsen , August Wehmeier, filled the pastor's position.

In the first few years, the parish hall , built in 1928 by stacking, served as the church of the newly founded parish. It was decided in the 1960s to build a new church for the congregation, which had grown significantly in the meantime, and an agreement was reached on the geographical center of the two villages as the location. Diez Brandi , who had previously designed the Lutheran Church in Hiddesen , was won over as an architect . The foundation stone was laid on April 25, 1965 under the supervision of the Detmold architect Hesse. After around 1½ years of construction, the church was consecrated on November 27, 1966. The construction costs amounted to around 740,000 DM.

Architecture and equipment

The building ensemble consists of the hexagonal church, the square parish hall and a free-standing bell tower. Church and parish hall are connected by an inner courtyard that has been covered since 1978. Both buildings consist of a reinforced concrete skeleton lined with bricks. The bricks are clad in red clinker on the outside, and painted light on the inside. The roofs are covered with copper sheets.

The bell tower made of exposed concrete , which was originally intended to be erected elsewhere, but this was not possible due to the nature of the soil, contains four bells, including two from the previous church.

The church interior for around 180 people is laid out with stone tiles. The altar and pulpit stand on a low wooden pedestal, a large wooden cross hangs on the wall behind. Benches and the ceiling are also made of wood. The organ acquired by Emil Hammer Orgelbau in 1969 stands on a gallery opposite the altar. The baptismal font made of natural stone is located in front of the altar pedestal.
