Grastrup-Hölsen is part of the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Bad Salzuflen in the Lippe district in Germany .
history
A stone ax 13 centimeters long and a pointed blade made of flint , about ten centimeters long with retouched edges, are evidence of a settlement as early as the Neolithic in the area of today's Bad Salzufler Grastrup-Hölsen district.
Until it was incorporated into Bad Salzuflen on January 1, 1969, Grastrup-Hölsen was an independent municipality in the Lemgo district .
Names
Hölsen was first mentioned in writing in 1088 as Huteleshusen and Hittelhusen . Other documented names are Hudelshusen , Hydelshusen and Hidelshuisen (1223), Hodeleshusen (1252), Hodelsen (1354, in the Detmold registry office), Hoedelzen (! 379), Holdessenn (1403), Hodelsen (1411), Hoddelsen (1492), Holßenn ( 1590, in the Landschatzregister), Höelsen (1615, in the Salbuch ; 1758), Hoelsen (1618, in the Landschatzregister) and Höelßen (1646).
The oldest written mention of Grastrup as Gravestorp comes from 1316. Other proven names are Grasvestorpe (1334; 1502), Grauestorpe (1363), Grawestorpe (1488, in the Landschatzregister), Grastroppe (1535), Grastrup (1545, in the Landschatzregister), Grastrupf (1584, in the Lemgoer Bürgerbuch), Grawesdorff (1613, in the Lemgoer Bürgerbuch), Grasdorf (1615, in the Salbuch), Graßtrup (1617) and Grastorf in 1806.

religion
The district is predominantly Protestant-Reformed and belongs to the parish of Sylbach. The Catholics of the district belong to the parish of St. Kilian in Schötmar .
