Papenhausen is a district of the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Bad Salzuflen in the Lippe district in Germany .
history
At the end of the 12th century Papenhausen was first mentioned in writing as Papenhusen . - Other spellings are documented from the following centuries: Pappenhusen (1332; 1796), Papenhusen (1411), Papenhussen (1507 in the Landschatzregister; 1730), Papenhausen (1581 in the Lemgoer Bürgerbuch) and Pappenhaußen (1617 in the Salbuch ).
On March 1, 1923, the Papenhausen community was re-formed by hiving off the previous community of Retzen-Papenhausen .
As part of the territorial reform in North Rhine-Westphalia , the municipality of Papenhausen was merged with other municipalities to form the new town of Bad Salzuflen on January 1, 1969, as part of the implementation of the " Law on the reorganization of the Lemgo district ".
As part of the implementation of the Bielefeld Act , the Lemgo district and the Detmold district were merged on January 1, 1973 to form the new Lippe district, to which Bad Salzuflen and thus Papenhausen have belonged since then.
Today 60 people live in an area of 3.12 square kilometers .

The Roman Catholic parish of St. Kilian in Schötmar is part of the pastoral association of Catholic parishes in Bad Salzuflen-Schötmar. The Catholics from Papenhausen also belong to it.

Free-standing English oak ( Quercus robur ) with a circumference of 6.94 m and a height of 25 m.
