Werl-Aspe is a district of Bad Salzuflen in Lippe , North Rhine-Westphalia with 7686 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2016). The village consists of Werl, the Aspe and Knetterheide south of it, which forms a coherent settlement area with Schötmar and Werl-Aspe.
history
Werl was first mentioned in writing in 1191 as Werle . The oldest written mention of Aspe as Haspa is dated to 1015. The district Knetterheide was probably first mentioned in 1674 as Kneterhede .
Religions
The majority of the population of Werl-Aspe is Protestant and thus belongs to the Lippe regional church . The Evangelical-Lutheran Reconciliation Church is located in Werl-Aspe as the center of the 2nd parish Knetterheide of the Evangelical-Lutheran parish of Schötmar . The Evangelical Reformed parish has its church with a parish center in Nordstrasse. Other parts of Werl-Aspe belong to the Evangelical Reformed or Evangelical Lutheran parishes of Schötmar and Bad Salzuflen.
The Catholics in Werl-Aspe belong to the parish of Sankt Kilian Schötmar .
Incorporations
On January 1, 1969, the municipality of Werl-Aspe will be based on § 3 of the law on the reorganization of the district of Lemgo ( Lemgo law ) with the previous cities of Bad Salzuflen and Schötmar and the communities of Biemsen-Ahmsen , Ehrsen-Breden , Grastrup-Hölsen , Holzhausen , Lockhausen , Papenhausen , Retzen , Wülfer-Bexten and Wüsten merged to form the new city of Bad Salzuflen, which is the legal successor to the aforementioned cities and communities.

According to § 3 of the main statutes of the city of Bad Salzuflen , the local committee of Werl-Aspe consists of 11 members. According to § 4 of the main statute, the local committee should be heard by the council or its specialist committees on all important matters relating to the local part. In particular, he has the right to provide advice and suggestions on the following matters relating to his district:
- Construction and maintenance of sports, parks and gardens, cemeteries and children's playgrounds, youth welfare and care for the elderly.

education
In the urban school center Aspe there is a secondary school and a comprehensive school (as an all-day school ) as well as a branch of the Bad Salzuflen city library.
Werl-Aspe also has a three to four-class elementary school near the Aspe school center. It is called the Knetterheide Elementary School .
