The evangelical reformed parish of Retzen was founded in 1953. The parish includes the districts of Retzen, Grastrup and Papenhausen. The church of the Protestant community, consecrated in 1960, is located on Kirchweg.

In the north of Retzen, on the Eickberg, is the Bergkirchen Evangelical Church , which was built in 1850 . The Evangelical Lutheran community of Bergkirchen has its origins in the revival movement .
