Wülfer-Bexten is a district of the city of Bad Salzuflen in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Lippe in Germany .

history

Wülfer

The first written mention of Wülfer as Uuluingeri is dated to the 11th century .

Bexing

The  first written mention of Bexten as Bikesethon (later Bykeseten and Bekeseten , possibly from Byke = Bieke / Bach) is dated 25 May 1036. In a deed of donation from the Paderborn bishop Meinwerk (term of office: 1009 to 1036), he transferred Bexten with the three preliminary works Ekama (Eikmeier), Hyse (Heerse) and Unrikissen (Hündersen) to the newly founded Busdorf Monastery.

Bexten was the seat of the mayor from the end of the 14th century . In 1524 the Meier had a water mill built at his court and received the meal justice . The courtyard was later expanded to become a courtyard (protected by a moat), and in 1708 a forge was added. In 1731 the Amtsmeierhof was destroyed by fire and in 1771 Hermann Adolf Meier sold it to the Lippe family in Detmold .

It was not until the end of the 18th century that independent agricultural holdings developed around the Amtsmeierhof; in 1788, 204 people lived in Bexten. In 1821 the jug justice was granted and from then on a pub was operated in the Waldkrug . In 1856 the Amtsmeierhof was torn down and a secondary school was set up in the Jägerhaus , and three years later the new schoolhouse was inaugurated; it served the children as the first educational institution until 1966. In 1985 the first post office was opened in Bexten.

Wülfer bexes

On April 1, 1920 , when the Bexten dairy was added, the municipality of Wülfer was renamed Wülfer-Bexten . Until it was incorporated into Bad Salzuflen on January 1, 1969, Wülfer-Bexten was an independent municipality in the Lemgo district .

Tanzlinde

The more than 500 year old Tanzlinde

In Bexten there is a more than 500 year old dancing linden tree , also known as a step linden tree because of its shape. She is the "only surviving witness" of the turbulent history of the Amtmeierhof. There is no documentary record of whether so-called Feme courts took place here in addition to many festivals .

Bird trail

In the Bexter Forest, north of the Dornenkamp road , the "Bexter Forest Bird Trail" was laid out in 1974, inspired by the former district forester Tiemann (1920–1976). Nature lovers and ornithologists can find information about the local bird life and nature on the boards on the circular route, which is just over one and a half kilometers long .

Personalities

Former Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder lived in Bexten from 1945 to 1956 and attended the local elementary school.
